Our Young Leaders Programme helps brilliant young people fulfil their academic potential, becoming critical thinkers with a social conscience and awareness of the issues around them.
Value Added Volunteering
By providing volunteering opportunities through our Value Added Volunteering, we hone our scholars’ employable skills while giving back to the local community.
Identity & Expression
Our Identity and Expression Programme develops the critical thinking, problem-solving and employability skills of those going on to study at Zambian universities, while also giving them the resources they need to explore their own identities.
Graduate Programme
Through our Graduate Programme, we connect graduates with post-graduate opportunities to help them fulfil their academic potential and develop their professional networks.
Alumni Programme
After graduating from Our Moon, we connect our alumni through our Alumni Programme, and provide them with information about further scholarship opportunities and internships while studying.
OUR CURRICULUM
Drawing on ancient philosophers, religious texts and the theories of Pierre Bourdieu and Paolo Freire, author of Pedagogy of the Oppressed, our curriculum is designed to disrupt mindsets, improve problem solving and critical thinking skills, and explore the role of the individual in universal systems of thought.
At the core of our curriculum is the Identity and Expression programme, devised by Country Director, Justin Mushitu. By questioning the positives and negatives of traditional Zambian education systems and culture, students are encouraged to think independently and make informed decisions based on the information in front of them, before going on to articulate these thoughts and ideas in a presentation created for their peers.
