This application cycle has closed. This page is kept here for reference. This cycle invited recent Grade 12 leavers (who completed high school in 2024 or 2025) with 6-8 points in their best six subjects (mainly 1s and 2s), from financially-disadvantaged households, who wanted to make a difference in society.
We're looking for students with a wide range of academic interests — people who yearn to learn, have an open mind, the potential to lead, are good team players, and are passionate about making a difference in the world. For the full eligibility detail, see Student Information.
The selection for the Young Leaders Programme comprises three stages:
Follow the instructions on the form exactly as requested, including short essays. Join the applicant WhatsApp group for questions as you go. Deadline: 5 March, 23:59 CAT — submit as early as you can to secure an interview slot.
If you pass Stage 1, you'll be invited to an online video assessment covering your approach to volunteering and what you hope to gain from Our Moon. Runs 17 February – 10 March
Shortlisted applicants are split into two groups and invited to a 3-day conference at our Chibombo site for interviews and to assess suitability for the programme. Runs 14–22 March · YLP 2026-27 starts at the end of March.
