Quincy Gives Back

After completing Our Moon's Young Leaders Programme, Quincy graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 2023 with an MA in Economics, and now works in London for BlackRock as an investment management analyst.

Reflecting on her experience, Quincy says, "At the forefront of my mind, I am always thinking about how I can help those who have supported me and my community at home. While at university, I partnered with a Zambian NGO to help children in my neighbourhood access basic necessities so they can go to school. My hope is that no child will have to drop out of secondary school because they can't afford their uniform and other school requirements."

Since becoming one of our alumni, Quincy has co-hosted our alumni conference, given speeches at fundraising events, started our buddy scheme to connect current students with alumni and connected us with opportunities at BlackRock. She's also served for two years as an Advisor to our Board of Trustees, and co-hosted a series of podcasts for HALI Access Network.

Quincy has never forgotten the needs of her family. Even as a student on a MasterCard Foundation scholarship, she would send money home to support them, putting her cousin through nursing college and supporting her younger siblings through school. Her younger brother Marvellous is now studying Civil Engineering at KNUST in Ghana on a MasterCard Foundation scholarship.

Quincy plans to return to Zambia in the future to make a wider impact. A natural, charismatic leader, we all eagerly look forward to watching her progress.
